BABYGLOW products are designed to start changing colour when the temperature of the body rises over 37°C and they are fully functional (white in area's that touch the baby) when the temperature reaches 38.5°C, which is where fever can become dangerous to the child. The faster you react to those illnesses, the more likely it is that treatment will be effective. Remember to check other factors that can cause a raised temperature when the suit responds, such as exposure to heat sources (warm room, sun, radiators for instance) or too many layers of clothing or blankets.
Simply put one of the Babglow Sleepsuits onto your baby and when your child gets too hot the Baby Glow clothes will change colour. This gives you a visual and immediate warning. Your baby should not be too hot and it should not have a fever and the Babyglow Suits will warn in both cases. The external temperature (skin temperature) should normally be around 36.5 degrees Celcius. At this temperature the Babyglow products are their normal colour.
When this temperature rises, which could be because of fever or because of other factors such as a warm room, the clothes change colour immediately. This gives you the warning you need to do something. Check that the baby has not got a fever and check that the room or conditions around the baby are not too hot. Because your baby cannot control its own body temperature yet (it can't sweat to compensate for instance) it relies on you to do this instead. Babyglow products help you by letting you know when you need to take action.
Babyglow operates without batteries or stimulation from any accessories or electricity. The body temperature is enough to make the clothes perform their function.
